Training

I began formal training at Prairie View A7M University under the direction of Danyale Taylor. At PVAMU I was a member of Classic Dance Ensemble where we were exposed in Modern, Jazz, African, Fosse and Graham.

Performance Experience

I performed with Classic Dance Ensemble for 4 years where we participated in many dance festivals across the US as well as Spring and Fall Concerts at the University. I began dancing with Urban Souls in 2008 where we performed “Across the Waters”. After re-auditioning I made Apprentice Company and trained until I was awarded a spot in the Performing Company November 2009 at PVAMU Classic Dance Ensemble Fall Show where I first met Harrison Guy.

Teaching Experience

I have been teaching the 3-4 and 5-6 year olds at UCCA since January 2010 when the studio first opened.

What does it mean to be an Urban Souls Dancer?

To be an Urban Souls Dancer is to allow you to dig deep and pour out your soul on the stage or in that rehearsal space. Urban Souls has become that breath of fresh air in my life, without air you cannot breath and without Urban Souls I cannot breath. Being an Urban Souls Dancer has not only created a fire in my spirit to want to dance each day like its my last, but also has made me more aware that I am apart of a vision that God is carrying out through me. I am yet a link to this chain and it is indeed an Honor being in the midst of God’s Divine Will.

Dream Job

My dream job is to dance and work as a Business Analyst. I am such a nerd at heart and love the computer field. I love dance and feel that with my love for dance and my love for computer and business analysis I have my balance of inner and outer fulfillment.
